We did two surgeries with the total number of 2550 grafts on this gentleman.
The picture on 11/1/96 was taken right before the second
surgery. The reason why the hair seems thin is because the
new hair had just started to grow. The newly transplanted
hair will, for several months, behave much like baby hair.
With time, however, the transplanted hair will behave like
normal hair- straightening out and growing closer together.
The remaining pictures were taken at follow-up
visits. As you can see, while the front had been restored,
the patient's crown area was not completely covered. It
was acceptable because for this balding pattern, few doctors
could achieve such a result after only 2 surgeries. Should
the patient return for another session, there is more than
enough hair in the donor area to thicken the hair around
the bald spot and cover it completely.
