In our office, we assume your donor site density is 100%. In one
session, we deliver about 25% to 35% donor site density to the recipient
area. Our final goal for the hair transplant
is to reach a 50% donor site density; since it is very difficult
for the human eye to distinguish the difference between 50% density
and 100% density when your hair is at a normal length.
We use an easy way to ensure that you will receive the promised
donor site density.
Here is an example:
If we want to transplant 25% donor site density to cover a balding/thinning
area of 80-cm2, we need to remove a 20-cm2 strip of donor skin.
( 80 cm2 x 25% =20 cm2)
We then divide the 20-cm2 strip of donor skin into small grafts
and implant them to the 80-cm 2 coverage areas. This way you will
receive a 25% density increase in the recipient area.
