FUE and FUT differ only in how donor hair is harvested—everything else remains identical. This harvesting method impacts scarring, density capability, graft survival, and cost.
FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction): Individual follicles extracted one-by-one with a 0.9-1.0mm punch, creating distributed tiny dots across the donor area.
FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation): Narrow scalp strip surgically removed, then dissected under microscopes, creating a single linear scar.

The optimal technique depends on your specific hair characteristics, coverage needs, and lifestyle—there's no universal "better" option.
FUT 2.0 is typically best for: Extensive coverage (2,500+ grafts), challenging hair (curly/gray/fine), long-term planning, moderate+ hair lengths (1.5+ inches)
FUE 2.0 is typically best for: Small procedures (<1,500 grafts), buzzcut preference (<1 inch), straight hair with excellent donor density
Important note: These are general guidelines only. Your scalp laxity, donor characteristics, hair loss pattern, and future needs all significantly impact which technique will deliver optimal long-term results for you.
During your consultation, we'll evaluate your individual characteristics, show relevant before-after examples, and provide transparent recommendations based purely on your best outcomes—not financial considerations.

The critical difference is scar visibility: traditional FUT creates a 2-3mm+ visible white line, while Advanced FUT achieves a virtually invisible 1mm scar with hair growing through it.
The technical breakthrough: Bilateral trichophytic closure at precise 20-30° angles allows hair follicles to regenerate through the scar tissue from both directions—creating natural camouflage traditional FUT never achieved.
Additional improvements: Blunt dissection (no nerve damage/cautery), <5% transection with all hair types, minimal post-op pain (50% need zero medication).

No. The FUT 2.0 scar is approximately 1mm wide with hair growing through it—virtually invisible at 1.5+ cm hair lengths.
Your role in optimal healing: Avoid strenuous activity for 2-3 weeks, follow activity restrictions, keep area clean, avoid direct sun during 3-6 month healing phase.
